Nice pack for the price!

"I bought this pack about 2 weeks ago. Seem like good quality material, sturdy zippers and straps. Love the front zip open pocket for easier access to everything inside. So far I have done a few rucks with it at 30-35#'s, seems pretty comfortable and carries well. I have a 30-32 inch waist and the waist belt straps are as tight as they will go. Also, I have the chest strap tightened all the way and do wish it could go a bit more. The quick disconnect clips on the waist belt are set too far back and also are covered by a tensioner strap that would make the strap useless if you did have a pouch attached there. They used Molle webbing on the waist belt even though none of the pouches they sell attach using Molle. Would have made more sense to put the quick disconnect clips where the Molle is. The top lid is nice, with the pouch locations, however, I agree with another review I saw that the front straps should have a secondary, lower spot to strap to if you don't have the pack full. Overall, I like the pack so far. Plan on hunting with it in November out west, that will be the true test."

Good experience with it's first elk pack-out.

"Well, I received my pack in time to hunt some elk in Idaho. I was super grateful to have full access to the pack from the front zippers. I also really enjoyed using the bow/rifle sling that came with the pack. The ability to release and pull it from the side is a game-changer. I was able to hike into my spot on my Birthday, run into some elk with the wind perfect, punched my first archery elk tag, and pack it out with my new Skre pack. It felt decent with my heaviest pack being 83 lbs. Had some lighter 2nd and 3rd loads that felt great. I will certainly look forward to having another pack out with this pack."

Great design, poor execution.

"It's got a lot of cool design features, but unfortunately they just weren't well executed. The quality of materials is good. I have no complaints about that. The problem is the way that it rides and carries. Even with the pack cinched up and the load tightened down (as much as it cant be), the bag moves and sways while you're moving. This makes it very difficult to climb or sidehill with this pack. No amount of strap tightening or cinching was able to remedy this issue. I think if there were more points to anchor the bag to the frame around the shoulders, it might help. The connection points are too few. It also becomes uncomfortable very quickly when you have around 40 pounds or more in it. No amount of adjusting the straps or load lifters was able to prevent the pack from wearing on my shoulders. Finally, for a pack at this price, I would expect far more adjustability. It is not very adjustable for different torso lengths. If you have a short torso, it's an absolute no-go. Overall, I was just super underwhelmed with this pack.  "

First frame pack

"Being a midwest whitetail hunter this is my first frame pack that i purchased for a western elk hunt i am taking this year. Pack seems very well built and has a ton of adjustments in the straps. It took me a little bit to get them all set to my body but pack is comfortable under load now. The built in quick release rifle holder and rain cover are a nice touch as well"

Awesome pack and good customer service

"Pack showed up today, I reached out last week about the shipping delay and Noah was quick to help out, great customer service. First impressions of the pack; well made, well placed pockets and compartments for easy access on the mountain. Comes with lid and rain cover vs having to buy them separate, huge plus for me. Zippers and pulls are good quality. The frame seems to be well made and fits me well (6’ and 190lbs). I will be putting it to the test beginning of September and will be able to report back on it after the hunt. For the price point of this pack vs comparable packs you just can’t beat it."

Heavy on features, Light on weight

"Great overall pack. Prefer over my Mystery Ranch Metcalf & Elberlstcok packs. Have used on several shots hikes setup for day hunts with my gun. Packs carries well and the quick release works quite easily. Really like the access option of the zipper to access main pack and like the built in internal pockets. Also, really like the rain cover and its built in easy access pouch. Side quick connects on waist band are set a bit to far back to access unless you take the back off, which kinda defeats their purpose. The lid needs needs additional connection points further down the pack to enable snugging it when not fully loaded, otherwise it flops around a bit creating extra noise. I was able to use the bottom loops on the bottom of pack to clip the lid down to when not fully packed and this solved the issue, although I know it wasn't designed this way. Still waiting for SKRE to post a video showing how the Meat Shelf is designed to work. This is a big selling point for this category of pack and most other retailers market the Meat Shelf on their videos. I've not used the shelf yet, but I'm fairly certain how it was designed to work. I'd give the review a 5 if I had better intel on the meat shelf."

Still waiting

"Pre-ordered when it said available in July...then told last week of July, okay sounds good. 1st week of August and still no luck. I'm sure the pack will be nice but c'mon."

Q&A

I’m a very large man 6’5” 300 lbs I have a hard time find a waist belt large enough for my girth What size pants would the largest setting on the belt fit
Our largest waist size is 42 inches. If you would like more help with sizing please reach out to our support team at support@skregear.com
With this pack system is it possible to see a load video with gun/bow and possible basics for a hunt. And also possible to have in the video a example of how much meat it can hold? Like can I pack out a moose, caribou, or just big enough for a deer. Pictures make it hard to judge size and the video I watch just went over some features no close ups. Thanks love yalls equipment.
This would be great to have. We will work on this for you.
When designing this pack system, is it geared towards a certain body type? I know that competitors offer packs systems in various sizes to accommodate different shaped hunters. Is that the case with the new packs system? I'm a larger guy and my concern is this not going to accommodate my size or if will not sit correctly. Thank you in advance.
We built our Pack system as one size fits all. We encourage you to try it out in your home and if it doesn't meet your expectations or feel comfortable, you can use our VIP sizing and exchange guarantee. We will pay for your return shipping if it doesn't work for you.
