"This thing looks and feels like your favorite hoody but it’s as warm or warmer than your late season jacket. I’ve been using it for ice fishing now that hunting is over and with just a base layer and a quarter zip under this I’ve been toasty down to 15 degrees. It’s not heavy at all but whatever space age tech this things made out of, I need more of! Five big stars."

That said, the Sawtooth isn’t as water-resistant as the Hardscrabble, so it performs best in dry but very cold conditions—where warmth and silence matter most. If you’re facing wet or windy extreme cold, pairing the Sawtooth with the Hardscrabble shell gives you the ultimate system.
