"I put the Blacktail Sweater to a real-world test during a 2026 ibex hunt in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of southern Spain. We hunted from roughly 4,000 to 9,000 feet and experienced everything from warm 70-degree afternoons to temperatures near 30 degrees with blowing wind, rain, and sleet. The Blacktail Sweater provided the perfect mid-layer beneath my Hardscrabble Jacket and paired extremely well with my Hardscrabble Pants. It became my go-to piece throughout the trip—whether I was relaxing in camp or gearing up for a demanding day in the mountains. It provided the warmth and versatility I needed without interfering with movement or adding unnecessary bulk. The fit was excellent and true to size. After relying on it through constantly changing mountain conditions, I would highly recommend the Blacktail Sweater—and SKRE gear in general—to any serious hunter."
